Bill Palmer, a mid-level IT manager, is unexpectedly promoted to VP of IT Operations after his predecessor is abruptly fired, landing him squarely in the middle of a company-wide crisis: the critical "Phoenix Project," essential to the company's survival, is badly behind schedule and riddled with failures.
